cardio - how much is too much?

ok im wondering how much cardio somebody can do without burning muscle...

and what what % of your max heart rate is the limit as to when you begin burning muscle tissue and become catabolic?

There's so many variables to consider, it's not even funny.

There's a solid opinion that for maximum "fat loss" you should maintaing 65% of your MHR for 45-60 minutes. However, there's evidence that intense cardio (even though it resorts to food storage while being performed) leads to greater fat loss throughout the day rather then just walking at 65% of your MHR.

My advice, try both and see what you like better.

THR should be between 60%-75% of MHR.
