    resting idea

    i just thought of this and wondered if i could get some feed back

    i was considering an experiment that would be essentially working a muscle @ medium intensity, rest for 72 hours, then do it again... then rest for 7-9 days, work at extremely high intensity, rest for another 7-9 days and then do medium intensity and rest 72 hours before doing another medium intensity workout... then repeat the whole cycle again


    any thoughts?

    4 years. 2 off and on, 2 of them serious... and 1.5 serious about dieting

    It would seem to me that there are many successful routines available to choose from today. Why redesign the wheele. There is really no need for trial and error. What is needed is intense training 3 to 5 days a week (depending on your age, experience, and goals) with a clean diet.

    im experimenting with something a little simmilar, triaining each bodypart every 4/5 days so 5 workouts per bodypart in 3 weeks. None of my workouts are of a medium intensity, infact they were(ive had the flu recently hence past tense) very intense as they were so short. I think its always interesting to rock the boat and experiment. If everyone did exactly the same life would be boring. Im not sure if i agree with your approach tho. Whats the point of going to the gym and plodding through a workout at a 'medium' intensity, it just seems like a waste of time to me.
