not hardly... if you have food in your system at all, your body will burn that as fuel before it starts fat burning so you're essentially skipping a meal... bad for muscle maintenance. In the AM on an empty stomach, your body burns pure fat if you keep your heart rate in the appropriate range.

i would lift in the morning the way my schedule works at about 730am and cardio would be at 430pm. The only reason i was thinking of doing it this way is because i train clients in the morning and if i did the cardio in the morning it would be after i had already had a meal and afternoon would be between meals.

No, because directly after your w/out you'll be ingesting PWO nutrition correct?

I would go to work 45 mins earlier if I were you, and do it in the AM...., then your w/o later in the day......... that possible?

Not ideal. Split them up, and let your DIET be the factor in getting you ripped.

However, if you are forced to do weights/cardio together in one session (not advised at all), then it's better to do weights first, then cardio afterwards.
    Never cardio first, then weights

on tues and thurs i dont eat from 1230pm - 430pm because of class so doing cardio at 430 pm before eating would not work? This is really the only option unless i get up at like 330 in the morning.

that would be fine. Have a pro/fat meal for your 12:30 meal, then do cardio at 4:30.... It will come to the same benefit as am cardio will!

I am with Angel - this debate about cardio timing seems to be endless. Of course, 1st thing in AM is best - but afternoon or PM is better than missing it altogether.

    I have the same problem...

The TIME you do your cardio is not important. The idea is to do it on an empty tank with somewhat deplenished glycogen stores, so you tap into your fat...

Not eating between 12:30-4:30, while not ideal, will produce the same effect as sleeping and doing cardio (fasting is what matters)... If you utilized protein and fat in your 12:30 meal, and fasted for 4 hours, you should be tapping into your fat as your energy source just the same!
