low pulley for back
when i use this machine... should i bring my arms up to my shoes an then pull back or should i just keep my back stationary an pull

You need to get the full complete stretch bending at the hips. When you contract bring the weight stack back lean back a bit and squeeze hold. The key here and are big mistake that people do is they use there arm/shoulder to bring the stack back. Your hands are hooks only.. Mind muscle connection here is as you need to focus on the back doing the work. On the contraction imagine you are squezzing a cherry in the center of your back. Visualization is a very good thing..
