I'm proud of my shoulders, they bubble out, and I never use machines. A favorite shoulder routine of mine is Military press(brabell), front raises, L laterals, and dumbell side raises. That's all, and IMO I got some big shoulders.

I like standing military presses set your wieght so you can do 1x10 the up the wieght until you finish with 5 sets of 5=8 reps
Then W presses( press up and out until your arms look like a W 45 degree angle) with dumbells at 25-45 pounds for 4 sets of 10-12 until you can hardly lift your arms then blast em with cross over cables for the rear delt and side raises for the side and if you got anything left do front raises with cable's of dumbells Try this for 6- 8 weeks you will be amazed You will know your doing it right when your delts pump up the size of a cantalope. Standing presses take alot of strength and balls in the past five years I have lived in three states and been a member at 6 different gyms and I have only seen two other guys do them most people make exuse's why they wont or wouldnt do them but the truth is the are just too weak. Do these presses in a squat rack for saftey and use a belt AND if you still got anything left after the above routine set down at a regular old shoulder press machine (adjustable with pin) and do some strip sets until you cant do 10 reps with 20 pounds good luck....

I just do front military barbell presses (no machines) and dumbell presses. That's my workout.

I see people doing it seated more often than not. I prefer standing only because you can act as your own spotter by using your legs to help the bar up on that last rep.

Nothing. Go heavy enough and you won't need anything else.
I stopped working my side and rear delts last year and they keep growing. My rear delts get a lot of work from heavy barbell rowing.

Heavy barbell shoulder press occasionally alternated with dumbells, reverse pec deck and side laterals using a lot of drop sets is my shoulder routine that I always use and get great results.

I don't even do a shoulder day. Just throw in exercises that hit them on other days.. like upright rows on back day and barbell military press on chest day.
