i do a modified dumbell press...

80 deg. incline (almost upright) and insted of pressing the bells with your palms facing in the direction of the way your face is looking, press the dumbells with your palms facing one another (ie the bars on the dumbells are parallel)... do not push the dumbell directly over your head or shoulders, but rather push it up and out, so you should have your elbows locked at about 4inches to 6 inches outside the shoulder... when your elbows are locked, you should be making the shape of a "y" with your arms and body...

if this is unclear, tell me, it is hard to explain a motion with words....

I think I've heard of these, 'W 'presses, right?

Between the two choices I listed though, which is better for the side delts.

if you think about it... the motion is really similar... both are lateral motions...

    for size: upright rows
    for definition: lateral raises

    so both...

I think seated side lateral raises are better as an isolation exercise for your side delts but upright rows are a better compound exercise in which you feel it everywhere side, front, rear delts, serratus, biceps, forearms, middle traps. Also, you can do more weight with upright rows, so I'd say for OVERALL upperbody development upright rows.

    What do you guys think?
