SMITH vs BARBELL
yooo guys have a question don't mind the mistakes cause i'm from belgium
a friend of mine does INCLINE DB press with 55 pound DB in his last set, but he does INCLINE BENCH on the smith with 200 pounds.
i
i do INCLINE DB press with 90 pound dumbbels and i do my barbell incline bench with 190 pounds so these two are almost similar.
i train at home so i don't have a smith rack and can't test it.
now my question is:
is there a difference in weight you can bench on the smith and/or the bench???
can you guys tell me how mutch you bench on smith and how mutch with barbell?
thanks bro's and sorry if i didn't introduce myself!
1m76
78kg
2 years training
max bench 230lbs or 107.5 kg
biceps 40cm
shoulders 135cm
chest 110cm

Smith machine will make you look like twice the stud you think you are. Point is that you can lift much much more using a Smith vs a standard barbell. No worries...you can out-smith your boy.

It's easier to push more weight on a smith machine b/c the weight moves in a linear motion and you don't need to stabilize the weight.

the smith bar is probably better if you are by yourself... and the bar is usually only like 25 pounds compared to the stand barbell of 45 i think... Barbell is better imo becuase smith your not getting much resistance

the bar's weight depends on the machine, ive been in gyms w/ one that was like 25lbs and ive been to a gym with one that was at least 50
