    legs, overtrained?

yesterday i went to the gym and did 8 sets for legs, probly the hardest ive done them in awhile, when i left the gym i was absolutely exhausted. almost on the verge of throwing up. do you think i might of overtrained them or just hit them real good? normally i do about 12-16 sets and never feel that way. today they are the sorest theyve ever been. what do ya think?

Welcome to weightlifting.......you're fine daisy......you just worked them real good for the first time...continue and you'll have a few more days like this one. And yes, you're doing it right. What did you do different this time?

I didn't get my legs to grow until I felt like that every single leg workout..including today! I learned to love it..and not to eat too much before training.
Also, I don't rate my workout by how many sets I did. I could do 2 sets of squats one day and blast my quads, other days I need to do 4 sets of squats, leg presses, lunges, etc before I feel the burn.

i went a little heavier then usual. and took shorter breaks in between. last time they felt nearly this painful was when i did drop sets on the leg press machine. that pain woke me up in the middle of the night and my legs were swollen for like 8 days. i guess ill just try less sets and more weight for a while, and see what happens. thanks fellas.
