    Unhappy post surgery work out

I had a hernia operation 2 1/2 weeks ago (umbilical), i feel great but am getting soft(its killing me) The doctor doesn't want me lifting for another 3 weeks. I was thinking of just using some 10lb. weights to keep some blood in the muscles. Anyone think this is okay?pointless? BTW I am going to Las Vegas in 4 weeks. Can't be the soft kid!!

I would follow the doc's orders bro...don't want to damage it further or open up any wounds. Moving around 10lbs weights won't do a lot in the way building much muscle anyways IMO.

no but it will keep the muscles from hypertrophying.. keep the protein high and use very very light weight for high reps. avoid legs though and stick to isolation movements
