    Am I over-training ?

I just changed my workout split to what I have listed below, bu tI was told only pros do this and I cud be over training, whats your 50cents ?

    day 1 - shoulder / tri
    day 2 - back - traps
    day 3 - off
    day 4 - legs / forarms
    day 5 -chest / biceps
    day 6 - off
    day 7 - off

I feel like I get more time to work my muscles groups and more recovery so i dunno what this punk is on about.
My old split looked like this and I done it for 15 month :

    day 1- back / biceps
    day 2-off
    day 3-chest / tri
    day 4-off
    day 5-legs/shoulders/abs
    day 6/7 - off

Well, I believe either one of those are just fine. I don't see you over-training on either one, provided you don't do 20 sets for each bodypart or anything crazy as such.

    Those are my 2 cents...........oooops, I mean 50 cents.

I train for different things than you do.

I'm not knocking your workout bro..not @ all....just saying that i wouldnt WANT to take off 3 days a week...just not for me...If it works for you then by all means keep up the work!!

It's safe to say that if you train more days per week than you rest, you aren't growing and progressing as you otherwise could.

Remember, you grow OUT OF THE GYM, not in it.

i am actualy more concerned that im not hitting my muscle groups often enough. Cos after day 1 its another 7 days til i hit my shoulders again so maybe i should revert back to my old split, only hit muscles in different groups as i did before
