i woudlnt go ass to the floor, thats alot of stress on the knees. not nessicary at all.
i use high box squats, a tad above parallel, and low boxs, a tad below parallel...and then also go regular, just breaking parallel
feet out wide, bending at the hips first, never the knees the first. knees never go past my feet, if you looked at my shin relative to the floor, the angle doesnt change much.
i used to kill my knees squating with what i thought was good form

I dont go ass to the floor. I feel it takes tension off your legs as you sit in the "imaginary chair". I like to slow myself down to a 90 degree angle and drive back up.

a lot depends on your build, its easier for a person 5'8" to squat to the floor then it is for someone over 6'.
i have a tough time squatting to the floor with an "empty" barbell.

We only have a smith machine at the gym I go to, no squat rack. I find if your a tall fella like me (6'0 +) dumbell squats are easier on the knees and you can get lower without over balancing.

as close to floor as possible bro
-

I go to parallel and thats it, I have already torn some cartilege in my left knee, so I don't want too much stress on my knees, then I go to the smith machine and do close leg squats for a quad blaster.

I work out at home without a spotter, So i do chair squats. Better than waiting for the squat machine at the YMCA to be free because dumb asses are using it to do bench presses.

yup i love my glutes and go azz to floor with lighter weight to save my knees
works glutes pretty well and makes for a good warm up
then i do "imaginary chair" squats like my legs need a beatin
