overtraining??
im doing a 5days on 2 off split, and have been reading that this may lead to overtraining of the CNS, im also training natural with only supplements like creatine and would like to obviously achieve max muscle growth, so should i go with something like this:
day1-chest/tri
day2-back/bi
day3-off
day4-shoulders
day5-legs
day6-off
day7-off
or...
day1-chest
day2-back
day3-off
day4-shoulders
day5-arms
day6-legs
day7-off
i do like trainig 1 muscle per day, but will change if it will benefit me, also im lagging in the shoulder and arm area if you could take this into consideration!Last edited by HOLLYWOOD; 04-10-2005 at 09:58 PM.

I like the 1st choice...its pretty much what I have spent a lot of my bulking training doing exactly. Its tough to take days off, but you need them to grow...especially when youre natural.

How fast do you recover? I recover extremely fast, my split looks like this:
1: Chest/back
2: Bis/tris
3: Shoulders/Legs
4: Off
Im in the gym for a while, yes, but i dont get winded, still have enough energy, and feel i get better results this way than from giving 7 days of rest between each body part.

You should post up a detailed workout schedule, ideally with some recordkeeping of your workouts over a period of time. If you are stagnating or even slightly regressing you could be overtrinaing but it is often diffifcult to see it yourself if you don't write down your workouts. Having said that, the 5 on 2 off by itself means little when determining if you are overtraining there are so many other variables.
