is this considered cardio ?
im not gonna lie..ive never done cardio period..i wanna change from my bulk phase to a ripping phase as mentioned in my other thread..im a hardgainer so losing is easy ;gaining is hard..6'2 200lbs..only fat is a little on my stomach from forcing the food down to gain weight..
i go motox every sunday, and hit the water 1 once a week..
can i consider this part of my cardio cause i hate going to the gym to stand on a bike or tread mill and sweating..its just not me but i will do whats needed to get ripped..

cardio is more about your heart rate rather than a specific activity. your cardio session in general should be described as a constant, repetitive motion that allows you to mantain your target heart rate range over a period of at least 30 minutes. your target heart range is most easily computed as (220-age)*70 through (220-age)*80.
so... if you decide to use swimming as your cardio activity you should probably think about aquiring a heart rate monitor (so you wont have to stop swimming to discover your heart rate), and then simply mantain your proper pace over the course of your session.
in addition you will also need to perform your cardio more often than once a week to actually dirive any cardiovascular benefit. for starters you may go three times a week. within three months you should be bumping up to four days.Last edited by bmg; 04-29-2005 at 02:29 PM.

That is more physical activity than exercise. . .
You need frequent 4-5 times a week, long duration 40 minutes, sessions to start reducing that bodyfat. . .
What kinda bike you got?
