    Shrugs?

Do you guys do behind the back shrugs or front shrugs when using a barbell, or switch it up, for the past 6 weeks I have been doing behind the back and already noticed a big difference, I think I am going to alternate everytime I switch my routine around.

I usually go for 10-12 my first 3 sets then hit a heavier set of 6-8 for barbell, I also throw dumbell in with it every other week or so.

IMO i think you get enough stimulation from your chins as far as the behind the back shrugs go, but i like to superset barbell shrugs with dumbells held to the side.

Your traps are located on the top of your back - not the top of your shoulders. The way I prefer to do them is with heavy dumbells while leaning the torso against an upright incline bench. The isolation is felt deep within the traps. You should anchor the bench against a wall (hopefully one with a mirror to watch your form) to prevent the bench from sliding beneath you...

9 out of 10 people I show this to - wind up preferring this over a standing variation... depends on your body structure...

I like to sit on a flat bench or stand and hold heavy dumb-bells on each side of me and lift and hold for at last 3 seconds, then repeat throughout set.

i do only front barbell shrugs or dumbbell shrugs to the side both gives me better range of motion- if ur traps are behind tat doesn’t mean you use behind the back shrugs - the problem with this movement is range of motion and strength- if i can lift 360+ lbs on my front barbell shrugs u think i wil be able to life the same with back shrugs no... Never- so why sacrifice the strength and the range of motion… This are my favorite exercises: dead lifts, rows, presses, squats, hacks, stiff leg deadlift and bar dips- reason im always strong at them so I give my 100% here rather doing Arnold press, behind the neck press, behind the back shrugs, behind the neck lat pulldown and ect…. I rather not waste my time usin this movements where my strength suffers plus chances of injury also high’… PEACE

Hey Warrior-am i understanding you right. Lay "face down" on the incline bench to do shrugs? I'd like to try something new but want to make sure I'm gonna do it right. Thanks!
