    check your pulse
    MHR = 220 - age
    then take 70% of that number
    i.e. 20year old MHR is 200
    140Beats Per Min is 70%
    The answer to your every question

    Sorry to sound dumb but is there a range, or is it 140 beats no more or less. If there is a range is it like 5 or just a bit more BPM, and is the the same for just a bit under the 140? I guess I'm just asking if it is 140 is 70% how high and how high and low could the BPR can go up from the 70%(140)BPM and still be in the fat zone?

    Theres no science to it, just stay in the general area of 140bpm. If u hit 145 or 135 bpm, no big deal. Stay in that range for at least 30-45min.

    I've read many times you should be between 60 and 70% to most effectively burn fat.

    Theres two Im sure.

    One for Fat burning with muscle loss as well, something like 220 - your current age and the one for Fat burning with no muscle loss whihc is 220 - your age x .7.

    If noticed the later being most effective for me, I have definatley cut up with no loos in muscle mass.

    Don't go for the 65%-75% "fat burning range". You will end up burning more fat if you work at an 80% target and you will work on cardio endurance at the same time.

    The question was best zone for fat loss NOT fat loss AND muscle loss.

    For 90+% of people 80 percent of heart rate is where muscle loss occurs!
