    lat work when benching?

i've read articles where they say lats are incorporated in benching. i do agree with this, however, my lats are totally sore from benching and my back work out 2 days later has to be sacrificed. this has happened for 2 weeks in a row and i wonder if anything can be done?

umm I kno for myself my lats are somewhat flexed to stabalize the back and keep shoulders out of play as much as possible, but they're never sore

Switch your days around, either do back later then that for a fuller recovery or do back before chest, I do b/c I had the same problem when I started to go really heavy, now it works out just fine. Good luck.

thanks for the input. i'm also going to try reducing the volume of my chest work out. i'm thinking it might be that my chest is exhausted thus most of the work done is shifted to the lats..
