i am truly clueless. My guess would be this. i dont know what muscle you your talking about, but lets just use chest as our example and you dont want it to grow. Lets say you go in and do 225 for 8 and fail at 9. every chest workout, do 225 and stop at 8. you might get to a point where you can get 8 easily and feel like you can get 9 and then eventually 10. But instead going to 10, rack it at 8. HOwever, if you get to that point where you think you can do 9 or 10, then ull be bigger. so i dont know. bottom line, dont ever go more then 8. if you do get to a point where u think u could get 9 or 10, but stopping at 8, u might loose that new muscle and stay where you want to be. I really dont know, but htat seems like a logical approach

and again, by always stopping at 8, over time, you wont be giving yourself a stimulis to grow so u probably wont

truly dude, if i was you, i would def not take it easy on the big groups and continue to hammer them out. combine that with arm exercises, and the growth signal will be there. trust me man.

direct work on smaller muscle groups will not help too much if the bigger muscle groups are not being stresses enough, "bigger groups teach smaller groups to grow"quoted from swolecat..
