anyone ever do bar twists for abs/obliques?
just wondering how effective you find it considering its not really exhausting?
and if so, is straight side to side twisting good enough as opposed to twisting say left side hand to right side knee?
I like the movement .. obliques are one of the coolest muscle

I never work them directly, I just do upper/lower ab work with rope crunches (weight) and let diet take care of the rest.

ive done them
you want to use as little weight as possible when doing these, (not a weighted bar, maybe a broom handle or something)
if the weight is heavy it will expand, making you appear 'fatter' & 'wider' as opposed to cutting up your obliques

it depends on how big they are, some people are just screaming for obliques training because of puny obliques, and it helps if you've lost weight and are trying to stretch out the midsection full of loose skin, other than that, really depends on the person and there idea of an ideal body

make my sides feel nice and tight if i contract good on each turn, but i always felt that squats and deadlifts gave more than enough work to the obliques. Doin cables with just a slight twist and focusing on the intercostals feels amazing though.
