Question Lifting more than once a day?

I’ve been following a set routine, basically one muscle group every MTWRF except for legs. My workout typically takes about 30-45 minutes, sometimes less.

How many hours can I put in at the gym? I’ve just haven’t been able to induce any DOMS. My question is that if you’re not sore and feel 100% is there any downside to working out for a longer period of time with more sets until you are?

Sorry if my question isn’t completely coherent, it’s almost bedtime for me.

Imo, 30-45 min workouts are perfect. especially if you are natural. I bet you dont need more sets. maybe just more intensity. Read some things on low volume workouts. i am not asking you to agree with the programs at all, but just to acknowledge the fact that 1 set with 2 rest pauses ( i am on dc) is enough to make us sore and come back stronger. And more sets might be detrimental instead of positive. How many do you do now?

My intensity is ok, could be better but I dont want to scare all the people in the gym. I do around 2-4 sets, with about a minute rest between.

Im thinking about giving it a try for a few weeks and see what happens.

it's all about quality, not quantity. Intensity is key. but yes after about 45-50min cortisol leels begin start rising dramatically when weight training
