    Question Swole Cat: Question

Have you ever tried doing smith lunges pushing off the trailing leg?
I saw these hot-assed Mexican chicas doing it.
Any way, asked them to show me how to do it. They were pushing off the ball of the foot, squeezing the glute of the trailing leg.
They had NICE pooters. But I don't know if that was genetic or if it was from work.
It did get me a nice, sore arse. But it was lower in the glute then the regular smith lunges where I push off the heel of the front leg. That one feels higher in the glute.
    Your thoughts?

    Got pics of the pooters?

Ahem........sorry........u said Mexican chicas/pooters/and I lost all train of thought.

I push through the heels myself, but I don't use the smith for lunges. When I do lunges I use d-bells.

Sorry no, pics of the chicas. They haven't been back for a while. I saw one of them at a bar a while back. I need to buy a digi-cam and keep it on me at all times.

Try what I described. Use your heel on a set, ball of your foot on the next. See how it hits you. Let me know if you don't think it's effecient versus dumbbell walking lunges. I'm scared of working to failure with a barbell at like 185. I'm wimpy, I know. Every body laugh at the wimp.

I'm thinking that it was genetic that lead to the nice pooters. Pushing off with the trailing leg would just make the exercise easier for the front leg, IMO.

If I'm following you correctly on this movement, it sounds to me like it's a great way to **** your knees up, doesnt sound like a natural movement. And regular lunges, theer is some slight pushing off the trailing leg, you dont realize your doing it, but it's a balance thing. I'd stick w/ regular lunges. You'd be surprised at how great your hams can look just doing lunges w/ your bodyweight for laps.
