I think it's great during a bulking phase. Check out this thread http://forums.steroid.com/workout-training/175081-1-set-vs-multiple-set.html It's about 1 set vs. multiple. I posted my old routine, it's on the first page.
I prefer volume myself, but everyone is different. :)
