    Rest Intervals w/Heavy Lifting

    What kind of rest intervals do you guys use when lifting heavy (85%+ 1RM)? 3-5 minutes? More, less?

    Usually w/deads and squats I'll rest about 3 mins. to get some air!

    What about bench and power cleans? Same idea?

    from what I nkow hypertrophy would be 1min 2 min tops, power lifting would be 3-5 for bench squat dead lift (basically same for power cleans) SwoleCat knows better though, I could be wrong.

    3-5 min for strength.

    dont mean to jack this thread, but whats the dif. between hypertrophy, stregth, and atrophy.

    Are you really asking what each of those mean, or are you subtly trying to say that they go hand in hand? I can't really tell, and don't want to make a total ass of myself, lol.

    I would say whenever you get your wind back and the lactic acid burn goes then start the next set everyone will be somewhat different.

    I disagree with this. Some kids haven't done cardio since the turn of the century.

    waiting until they get their wind back could be way too long lol
