    calf training

    i've got a problem!
the genius who owns my gym decided to go and get a package with heaps of fancy machines.. that are crap. He got rid of ALL the calf machines, now he says just use the leg press.
I've tried using dumbells on each leg but i find it hard to get a good pump.
    help me out!
I've got 3 leg presses and a smith machine.. if that helps.
I need to do some seated calf raises, what can I use? anyone got some bright ideas?

Use the leg press , works good . Or the smith machine , both will do the job .

you can do seated calf raises in the smith machine, donkey raises is another good exercise (the best actually for calves)

only difference in seated to standing is the knee bend. if you can figure a good way use your machines with bent knees then it'll hit the soleus just the same.

Lol i trained at some shitty gyms..so you have to use ur imagination lol. If it hurts put a towel or something in between. You can also do calves by standing on one foot holding a db. But donkey raises are the best in my opinion.

the one legged calf raises while holding a dumbbell works, just make sure you have a bar overhead to hold your other hand on for balance

every now and then when i workout at home i do these on the back porch while holding a 45 pound plate, my calves are always sore the next day
