The reason biceps are stuborn is that they are overtrained ..........The bicep is a very small muscle which is trained to much because it takes a lot of hammer from your back workout............I tend to train them once every 10 days with great results..........(19.5)

Yeah...my biceps are probably the toughest too. I space out my back day and my arms day enough to let my biceps rest but it's not working all that well.

I do my back on thursday and my biceps on friday, so my biceps get to rest and repair from saturday thru wednesday and then are hit again on thursday as secondary to my back... I don't think I'm overtraining but you might be right.

The reason that I say I'm not overtraining is becuase I rarely get Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) on my biceps, and they even look like they have gone down in size by wednesday (prolly in my head though). I have a wonderful routine that I love, I make gains in reps or weight every week or two on all exercises except biceps, very frustrating... I think maybe I'm not training them enough.

    I do>

    Standing EZ-bar curls (wide/medium grip) 4 sets
Sitting EZ-bar preacher curls (close grip) 4 sets
Standing Dumbell Hammer curls 4 sets

and then with forearms later in the workout I do a set or two of reverse curls.

All are to isometric failure with a few forced reps on the ending set of each exercise. I use a broad double progression rep range, where I pick a weight I can get 6 or 7 times unassisted and then stick with that weight until I can get it 11 or 12 times, then I add five pounds and start all over... and so on and so on. I keep very strict form and do slow controlled lifts. I'm all open for suggestions, but like I said, I make great gains in my other exercises which use the same idea of training, yet my biceps won't grow much if at all anymore.

Every six weeks or so I will do a week of only supersets and all negative rep sets just to change things up, then I will take a week break from the weights with only one full body low volume and low intensity workout to maintain the muscle, then I start all over with my regular routine again... i love this system.

Legs, but never really trained them hard until the last month or so. I am hoping they show some improvement soon. I am hammering away at the upper chest also.
