AM is the best time to do it because your body going to use fat for fuel.

Will the juice help you maintain your muscle while run in the morning? I am trying to lose weight, but dont want to lose strength. Do you need to drink a shake or breakfast directly after?

The truth is you use slightly more fat as fuel than usual but if you are doing high intensity cardio then you will just get less of a workout because you were just fasting (sleep) and will not have the neccasary energy type available.

This has been proven by scientific research studies.

The percentage of how much more fat you will burn varies between study to study but the general consesnsus is that it is almost insignificant.
Reports have shown better results from doing cardio in a non fasting state.

Should the protein shakes be avoided as well when trying to lose weight? Mine is low cal, 20 grams of protein per scoop. I take it twice a day. Is that wrong to do? I am on a cycle now.

I really dont know sh!t when it comes to juice.. buttt, imo as far as mornin cardio i wouldnt eat/drink anything before except take a serving of glutamine to help preserve muscle and maybe a thermogenic to induce more fat burning... thats what ive been doin and ive been seeing about a 1 to 2 lb loss each week w/o strength loss which is on target. Also, if your gonna have a protein/fat meal wait about 20 minutes after cardio.. and if your gonna have a protein/carb meal you should wait 45-60 minutes after so that lipolysis (fat burning) isnt brought to a halt. hope that helps

eca, or if you dont need something as strong maybe coffee, anything that will get your heart rate up a little and make you sweat,.. but make sure to keep your heart rate between 60-70% because that is optimal for fat burning.. and if by, 45minutes, you're referring to how long you should wait after cardio to eat a protein/carb meal.. then yes

Its a safe bet to wait about 45 mins after cardio due to the fact lypolysis continues for about that long afterwards.

The point is, in a fasted state one can tap into untilizing FFA's quicker than any other time except maybe PWO.

Ya but not a significant amount.

If you were trying to improve your endurance then it would be stupid to do cardio in a fasted state.

If you were gona go for 30-40 min light intensity, then it would be slightly advantagious.
IMO its not worth the hassle.

but the worst thing to do is to try to go do a workout in a fasted state.

I think we are talking about two different things here! I agree with what you said for sure. If you are training for endurance fasted state cardio is rather dumb. If you are looking for pure fat loss, this is one of the most optimal times as liver glycogen will be completely depleted and you body will burn through available blood glucose in apox. 20min. The afte that its almost pure fat burn. But fat loss is not something that happens in one session of AM cardio, its a long process that ocurs over time. And since I can't stand running, walking on the treadmill and watching sports center is a great option for me!

    ok its like this..

within 15 minutes you need a pure protein and dextrose sugar shake. approx 1/2 cup dextrose is fine.. 1 hour 1/2 later eat 50-65 grams protein and carb such as rice, pasta , etc.. this is called post workout shake and post/post workout meal.

Dog...I think Deezuhl was thinking you were talking about weight lifting....You're making the cardio thing way more complicated then it really is....Wake up, do you am Cardio for 45 mins at a low intensity 55-75% Max Heart rate. Wait 45min and eat whatever meal you would like....Pro/Fat, Carb/Pro its your choice!
