Exclamation fat loss thru dieting, w/o cardio

i got a new job!!!! hella money , and also hella time:::
i can still eat during work:: diet is no problem

problem is i only have 2 hours of free time for exercise:::::
i don;t want to do cardio next to my work out session::::
as i wanna gain lean mass::
my question is: can you loose fat thru dieting and without cardio???
    or cardio is really important

I know pleanty of bodybuilders that never do any cardio on aas and come out lean... there is a dude on the boards here that got so gd ripped and never touched the cardio machine... I do not disagree with xxx, just know that there are people out there that do it. You have to be really strict!

I don't like the feeling of not knowing I can get through a couple hours of basketball or something...or take a 5-10k run...

Maybe it's just me....but the red-faced bodybuilder huffing and puffing his way up the stairs at work is just disheartening to me....

    But then....

Thats why I'm not a bodybuilder.

    okay!!!!!
anyways, is cardio more effective or can dieting be as effective?? if so, how much caloric intake do you decrease to still maintain muscle size, while burning fat..

I agree with you, being muscular without being physically fit is a waste for anyone who enjoys sports. But, anyway you can try HIT cardio, 20 minutes a day, it will keep you in shape if done right, and you will lose some fat.

I know you mentioned you only have two hours of time to LIFT, but I've noticed even when I throw in twenty minutes of cardio in with my workouts, my workouts seem to go much smoother and yes i even think i lift bigger, it might be in my head Try throwing in twenty minutes of cardio for your diet and you still have a good hour and forty minutes to throw down the weights

Eating super clean you can get by w/o cardio....I hate cardio actually, I tend to drop too much mass.....

Caloric intake is based on an individual......put together a diet and just adjust here and there if ur not losing fat adjust it, if ur dropping too much weight adjust....use the mirror as ur compass to achieve ur desired goals....

i am a man of cold-hard fact as opposed to opinion...from experience, i can say:
FACT: a disciplined diet with proper training & supplementing is what worked for me in attaining my current physique. i am lean, hard & have vascularity throughout my body...including abdominals. i have not stepped foot on a treadmill or have trained cardiovacular besides masterbation & sex.

depending on you body genetically, will also play an important role in how lean you become without cardio. everyone is different. what works for me, may not work for you...learn your body...bottom line!

    doing cardio wastes glycogen storage, and therefore decreases intensity of your workout from the depleted glycogen::: if u do it after, ull put yourself in a catabolic state, cortisal hormone release: u need PWO and rest::;

correct me if i am wrong, but u can't do cardio near workout::::::
ill give it a try::: anyways here's my question: how much caloric intake should i decrease?????? i got my caloric intake from the caloric intake calculator, is it accurate?

I just want to say I lost 50lbs in 2 months from just dieting and never doing cardio.

The catch is I also lost a lot of muscle in that time.... In other words my diet was nearly an eating disorder.

But, all in all, it is very possible

Don't neglect your ticker. It is the most important muscle of all. That being said; take LITTLE TO NO REST in between sets alternating agonist/antagonist muscle groups (ex: 1 set bicep then 1 set tricep, then 1 set bicep....repeat). The time spent moving from exercise to exercise is all you get. This should keep your HR up and give you the aerobic benefit. You will be burning more calories and completing your workouts quicker. Heck, you might even have enough time for 30 of HI Aerobic training as well.

500 cal negative equals 1# of weight loss per week. Of course the increased BMR and direct EE from the cardio is what will accelerate a faster weight loss.

the pic in my avatar is the result of my contest prep done with strict dieting and hard workout without any cardio.the only cardio i did is a walk with the dog plus i have a physical busy job but nothing major.i believe in keeping muscle by lifting hard and getting ripped by following an strict diet.

I like cardio for the heart, if NOTHING else.

I use it to cut though, helps me out. Also helps speed repair in my case, bringing blood flow to the areas.

3,500 calories = 1 lb. It seems easier to add cardio in then to try and decrease caloric intake

You walk however fast you need to, with an incline or w/out, to reach 65-75% of your max heart rate.

    That's the gist of it.

Yeah, all that for no fat loss.

HIIT is usually used for conditioning, and people EAT before they do that. This increases their VO2 max, but it's NOT ideal to burn stored bodyfat, no.

Sometimes the simplest things work the best.

I'd clean that post up a bit, then post it in the diet forum.

I see milk and rice right off the bat, so I know you have a lot of work to do.
