Rest between Sets?
I have heard so many different opinions on this and i even got in a debate with a friend of mine.
Ok when you are trying to bulk shouldn't you take 3-5 minutes of rest between sets?
If you are trying to get more strength and cut up 1-3 minutes between sets?
That is what i thought some reference would be great so i could read up on it.
Thanks

that's a good question. i think everybody's optimal recovery or rest time between sets is different. i know that when i do a really intense set with heavy weight i do need alot more rest before i can go again, not 5 minutes but definately close to 3 minutes. hopefully swolecat will respond to this because i'd like to know myself and he seems like the sharpest knife in the drawer here.

When doing mass building exercises i usually take 2-3mins between sets, no when doing strength excercises i take 1-2 mins between sets to keep the blood flow going, and also keep the heartrate up

SC? How about you as far as time in between reps?

strength 2-3 min, hypertrophy 1 min.

Depends on your goals. Generally, 2-5 minutes for strength, 2-4 minutes for power, and 30 sec - 1.5 minutes for hypertrophy. That is according to the National Strength and Condition Association and i agree with it...

your muscles are about 75% recovered after one minute
