Intense Shoulder Pain
Gentelmen,
When I do regular bench press, my right shoulder ignites up in extreme pain. I have dislocated my shoulder before for many years, but after about a week the pain went away. This pain is during flat bench/incline/decline/dumbell press. My bench has gone from 310lbs to 225lbs because of the pain. Do you think i have a rotor cuff injury? I am in the military, and they are quick to cut on you, I dont want this to affect my training, but the pain is so intense. Should I take some asprin before i train? I just need some advice on this, i'm trying to ignore the pain, but damn it really hurts bad. Today i did chest, and i could barely bench 225 x 6. Thanks for the advice.

Oh all of the pain started when i tryed to do my max bench while in kuwait. I attempted to bench 340lbs. During lockout I felt my shoulder give out. Since then I have had this pain. I still continued training and my bench has declined in weight ever since.

You really need to get an x-ray, and if that doesn't show a seperation or odvious injury, then get an MRI. it sounds pretty bad, a little more than a cortizone shot.

i had that and asked a pt he said its cause my grip may be too wide and i may be lowereing the bar too low...keep it 90 degrees...i changed up my grip and my shoulder was fine...

There are lots of things you can do later, but for now go see an orthopediac surgeon. If you let it go it will only get worse not better. When you are recovered give the following a go it will keep such things form happening again... also... unless you are a powerlifter and have to do flat bench, I suggest you skip it as it has hurt a lot of people.
Blessings Bro,
