    Can't Get My Heart Rate Up In Cardio

    AM cardio...target HR is 131 for 65% anddd I can't get my HR above 97....fat burn is max 4.5 speed and 15.0 incline and it wont get my heart past 97....would it be okay to increase the speed? it seems thats the only way to do it for me

    yes!!!....bcuz ur heart gets more effecient so it requires more work

    like when u get bigger and need more calories..

    the only constant thing is change.....

    switch to the stairmaster, if that doesnt get your heart rate up nothing will

    Most people resting heart rate is 70 Lance Armstrongs is 40!

    40 thats incredible, I consider myself in good physical shape, I hike and ski at altitudes around 9000-13000 feet, and my resting heart rate is around 80 I think. I can hike all day without getting tired but my heart rate usually stays up there

    Yes, you can increase the speed but make sure the heart rate monitor on the machine is accurate first. There have been some cardio. machines that I have used and based on my perceived level of exertion, I knew I was working harder than the monitor read.

    that is exactly what I was thinking....I wouldnt put too much faith in the cardio machines heart rate monitor...I have been on some that gave me my heart rate without even having the touched the sensors...
