I think this depends on how heavy you are lifting. If you are lifting very heavy then probably just once a week. If you are lifting lighter you can probably do it twice a week.

Usually only once a week, but it depends on the person and their recovery time. If you hit your legs hard enough they should be sore for quite a few days anyways. Once a week is good imo.

I too prefer once per week. You "can" do them twice, but I'd refrain from training them more than 2 times in 7 days.

Once is all you need of you are trining legs which to me should include more than just squats.

Once a week would be a good starting point. As you become more advanced, the intensity will be so high that you might not be able to recover in 7 days. When this occurs, you will not be able to squat every week. Choose quality over quantity.

ok, thanks everyone for the responses. I plan to do squats in reps of 20. Til I get used to them. Also I do incorporate other workouts for my legs.

maybe you should get use to squats BEFORE you try 20 rep squarts. good luck getting more than one or two sets of 20 reps

start out with low rep, heavy squats and than when you feel good with you squat than try for 20 reps on your last set.

I guess I wanted to do lighter weight more reps in order to get my body used to them. Lower weight would mean less injuries and more time for other muscles to adjust to the movements. Correct or am I off base here?

One ME day, and one DE day within 7days is common.

yes with westside it is, however, a westside leg day max/dynamic effort day is different than a straight up leg day. Usually they include some type of squat/goodmorning, hamstring, then usually some type of back. In that case it would be ok because there would less emphasis on just training legs.

Yes, however, some do box squats for both ME and DE days...

You're absolutely right though, most incorporate GM's for ME days....
