    Pullovers for Lats

    I will be doing pullovers for my lats I heard that I should do with a bar instead of dumbbell is this right and I should keep my arms straight.

    If you want lats, do weighted pull ups. When you can't do anymore at the weight you are at add 10 kilos and just do negatives. Adds mass like nothing else.

    In answer to your question, you can use either. Keep your arms slightly bent, but in one position through the entire range of motion using your lats to move the weight.

    You use a barbell or a dumbbell with the latter being more common.
    You can use either method. A straight-arm pullover will be a single-joint exercise for the lats and a bent-arm pullover will be a multi-joint exercise for the lats. Your triceps will be stabilizers in the bent-arm version and will assist the lats in the bent-arm version.
