As a substitute for squats, I like doing two exercises in its place. First, I hit the leg press or squat press and then move on to hack squats. IMO, your leg mass will actually improve with this combo. There is far less stability required with these exercises. Your back should be able to recover with these two exercises.

Or even look into drop sets or super sets. People always look for a new exercise or new piece of equipment. We can get even better results using what we have just in a different fashion

Try swoles leg routine, but sub squats for leg press, make sure u use the fullest range of motion possible, i got some gd results with that when i hurt my back and cudnt do if with squats. Otherwise just do heavy leg extensions and leg press, and hacks if u can do em.

    first thing
i think you should go get the back checked up
if there is no damage just muscle pain and spasms
go get a massage on it...

    as for legs
    do leg press..
    hack squats ...

Im not so sure about heavy leg extentions....this is what i attribute ****ing my knee up to. Leg extentions wont add any mass, I just think theyre only job is to wreck the knee...
Sorry if you guys like them i just am bitter towards them..
but as for the leg curls...go crazy

    Legs - no squats

    no squats = no legs

I agree with collar first and formost, also you might want to take advantage of our new "injury & rehab" fourm, and ask some people who know all about different back problems form lifting. All that aside... I would say to drop the weight and up the reps... it took me a long time to realize that my legs grow from the higher rep range (15ish or more), and alot of poupular routines for squats are based on alot of volume training.

I dont agree with people that say no squats, no legs, whilst i do squats anyway, i think leg press is as gd a mass builder for legs, not for overall size, but purely for leg size, and as for leg extensions, they are gd for building up the tear drop, but not realli that gd for overall mass.
