i get there within a couple of minutes, the trick is to set the cardio at a high setting until your heart is way over 70%, then taper down to your optimum level. Works for me.

yea depends on what im doing. Ive just started swimming laps to change up my cardio and id like to try my hand at triathlons or adventure racing or something....anyway, swimming and my hr is beyond 70% with one lap!! heh. im sure after a month or so that i'll get better at swimming and my hr wont jump so high.

sounds like you are pretty fit. if so thats the downfalls i guess of being so..heh. maybe try swimming..?

D9 its taking you a while to get up that high b/c of your low level of speed.
I usually give myself about 3-4 minutes or so before attemting to get up to THR. Especially since our HR is the lowest right when we wake up. Dont want to shock it too much. A nice little 3 minute warm up and I'm off.
