Deadlift question
I went to my buddy's wedding who I haven't seen in 7 years and his dad made a comment on how big I had gotten (30 lbs). His father was talking to my dad about it at the reception and my father told him that I benched around 350lbs and weighed around 200lbs. Then he told my dad that his son (my buddy) was in a deadlift contest and deadlifted 620 lbs winning first place. The guy weighs 6'1 215 and is in good shape but is average at best, build wise. Just curious as to what you guys deadlifted as seasoned weight lifters to compare. I think he is full of it, but its hard not to beleive my buddys dad since he is a priest.

My dad deadlifted 460lbs at 5'6" weighing in at 185lbs.
620 seems like a lot for only weighing 215 with an average build, but I'm not sure what anyone else is capable of.Last edited by Flexor; 10-12-2005 at 06:17 AM.

Outstanding DLers can be average builds if they have long arms and short back. 620 is a big deadlift for anyone but they dont have to be as massive as good benchers.

It could be true. I pull 500 at 200ibs, 5¨11 and I am far from buff.
