Whats your favorite lifts and Why?
Just wanted to seperate the men from the boys. This is my story(I think the reasoning is obvious.)
The reason why I love Squats.
This is when you've put your body to the limits and made it through. When blood blast out of your nose for the first time in mid squat and you've been at the sticking point for an eternity and you blackout and can no longer fill the pain of the steel bar across your back that holds close to three times your body weight, but you know the only way is up. Then you regain conciseness in one of two places
1. on the ground with a trainer or coach in your face asking if your ok
2. in a fully upright position, hearing the roar of the weight room in disbelief of what they've just seen , seeing yourself in the mirror through your own blood and realizing that your a badass.
Dose any one else have a name for that place you go when the pain dissapears?

Powerlifters are a breed apart. I was still wondering if any of ya'll had a name for the place you go when the pain goes away and every thing is dark. I love the warm felling at this exact moment I sware I've had out of body experiences in the squat rac. The dead lift is definetly my close second. Somtimes the reason I stare at the celling is because I don't like to see my bones in powder form on steel objects. It's wonderful to feel all that weight at the end of your arms and know that you are defying one of earths greatest forces(gravity's a lil bitch.) and I prove it when my shoulders lock out.

Bent over tbars
When I strap on my gloves, pour water over my head, and grit my teeth in 95 degree weather as I launch those weights off the ground it brings a focus that I can't duplicate anywhere else. Like the priests on the front of the RATM cd case burning alive and feeling no pain.
The name I have for it is- Begining of the workout

Squats by far
reason: Squats seperate the men from the boys period.
But even most people who squat don't really squat look around your gym there are alot of guys doing what I like to call "heavy knees" now don't get me wrong quarter and half squats have there place but don't do a max half squat and confuse it with a full squat.
Those who do "heavy knees" will never admit to it but we all see. If they were to compete they'd argue after every attempt that was red lighted.
long live powerlifters.

SQUATS deads for a close second, #1 if u r taking grip strenght into consideration.
these numbnuts were running there mouths and carrying on when i was trying to get my sets in yesterday. had me cussing on the way down.these r the guys that ride the bikes for there legs. but can bench a lot. if ur not going to be serious in the gym especially when those that are r squatting then get the fuck out. and go to the bar and hang out and run your mouth.

shrugs.... i just love em, i always wanted big traps (as well as everything else ) but massive traps look so good and when youve got 500lb on the bar and u can hardly lift it , then your traps kick in and u rep 8 out but u feel like your arms r gona pull off , but u still do it, that does it for me

i am going to state for the record that i cant do squats or major leg movements anymore. i tore my cartilage in my hip a few years ago and continued to play college football and track on it because i thought it was just tendonitis or something. but i favs were squat and front squat, but most of all cleans. cleans burn everything, traps, shoulders, legs, back those damb thingns used to kill me. remember youall are awesome keep up the good work.
