Just Curious...Why Do You Workout???
i was just curious why is it that all you guys workout. is it because your're a BB, you take pride in the apperearance of your body, ur in some type of sport, you just flat out enjoy hittin the weights, or a combo?
personally for me i take pride in keeping by body in shape. also i really enjoy going to the gym. i feel like its my get away, i put on the headphones and just go to work and think of nothing else.

I've always cared about how my body looks in the past, but now for the past year or so I have been training for bodybuilding.

MOSTLY for bodybuilding but I drink too much to really set focus on actual bodybuilding goals so mainly its just the ladies plain enjoy it. but once i can stop drinkin (after college) i plan on takin my body to the limit. BUT i'll stay natural till I can focus on bodybuling and bodybuilding only.

Im waiting for a post from that guy who said he works out to get some p-word...
I can't really see myself without lifting... I've been doing it since i was 12, and i guess i've always enjoyed it. I like getting pumped up, thats an amazing feeling, i like the release it is, i like improving my body and strengthening myself mentally when i train. Like to prove physical limitation doesn't apply to me. Weakness is my opposition, and I'm here to kill.
I really enjoy it more than a lot of people I know think... i like what the whole thing is about.
..I kept this one short.. no essay here...

Reasons?
1.) For myself, to get bigger and stronger
2.) Impress the ladies, and show up the metrosexuals as weaklings (new age guys who have long unwashed messy hair, no arms, have ILS and use beauty products, and yet women like them!?!?!?) Nah, its just women aren't threatened by their masculinity.
3.) To beat other people who think they are god's gift to women and yet have never lifted in their pathetic lives
4.) Protect the ladies from thugs
That about sums it upLast edited by Flexor; 10-16-2005 at 03:00 AM.

It's a very personal "hobby" to me. I am not a competitive athlete but take pride in learning about something that I can get feedback on my efforts everytime I step in the mirror. Never really desired public competition - just the competition within myself so far. Bobybuilding became even more interesting to me when I began to study muscle mechanics and physiology. In High School it taught me to love reading - I began to read every fitness magazine and book I could find... I was actually buying books!
I began at 17 years old trying to get big enough to woop my ol' man's ass... but it evolved into a real dedication that has helped teach me the meaning of things like: motivation, education, discipline and progress.
Now 10 years after I first began a regular routine - I can't imagine my life without it. And I have never stopped lifting - sometimes I downshift to keep from overtraining - but never stopped... never wanted to. I'd sooner stop eating, sleeping, showering...

- to show that i care what i look lie and have the motivation to do it
- I like to look good and superior to every skinny dude out there(not cos there skinny but cos they are to dam lazy to not be skiny)
- OH YEAH *****

good question!!!!
i cant lie...
alot of it is so when i look in the mirror i can be proud of myself.... and not have to look at titties and a fat gut.....or little stick arms and ribs.
i work out to get complements(im self conscious)
i work out to help me accell at pretty much wutever sport or activity i do
i work out instead of doin drugs or drinking myself stupid(and im 20 so its hard)
and yes *****,because i have actual muscle tone i have gotten chicks over some skinny dudes.
and no i dont care if thats the only reason why i got chicks

It's all for the ladies!!! No, I really care about my appearance. I've been training for five years now and my body has changed dramatically. I love it when you meet some chick you used to go to school with and they're gobsmacked. What a feeling.
Every fri night, I hit the gym for chest. Once we're finished, showered and groomed. The clothes hang off us so much better. Again, what a feeling. Walk into the bar like a king!

[QUOTE=diponyou]good question!!!!
i work out to get complements(im self conscious)
gotta agree w/ you bro, i'm very self conscious but also very humble. its kinda werid. i kno i have a better body than the avg guy (which makes me feel good) or gettin a compliment is always nice, but then i compare myself to some of you big ass mother fvckers and thats what makes me push myself.

The added strength helps me run faster. I have always lifted for athletics, aesthetics is just a bonus.

First and foremost, improved athletic performance (skiing, hiking, rockclimbing mostly)
Secondly I am scrawny and I want to look better since my face isnt that special and I like sleeping with attractive women. I gained 16 pounds this summer and all of a suddent I started pulling ass all the time so I think there might be a connection there. Perhaps it's just my new found self confidence that helped me pick up women, either way ***** is my favorite cheat meal

"I wanna look good naked" -- American Beauty
No, but its become a lifestyle now (Funny how thats happened in less than 9 months)... But before, it was pretty much like everyone else comments, I care about my body and how it looks...
I want to make my future wife wanna Fack the Shat out of me 4-5 times a day...

Two words: The Lust and Envy of others.
How's that for brutal honesty?
(Oh, yeah, and to "protect" the ladies.)
