Which type of cardio to do???
I have begun a cutting diet this week. However, I haven't started my cardio due to so many mixed opinions. Which of the following works best?
1 Hour of Walking 3.5mph- 60% max heart rate
30-40 minutes of running 5mph- 75% max heart rate
High intensity interval training- all out spring for 30sec, jog for 30sec. Repeat.
45 min moderate biking
15 min running (75%max), walking 3.5 45min immediately following
I have NEVER had a fast metabolism. Some people say walking burns more calories from fat, however, that doesn't change your metabolism. Others say running will change your metabolism, but burns off muscle. Please give me your opinions, I need to get this figured out ASAP so I can begin my cardio! Thanks!

I just got back from doing low intensity on the elliptical. I wouldn't do it any other way. Its easy on the knees and I can get my heartrate up to 65-75% max easily. Pretty effective too.

How many minutes do you do it for? Does that increase overall daily metabolism as well?

i prefer to use the x-trainer cos it is easy on the knees and gets the heart rate up pretty fast

I prefer my mountain bike.
Just jump out of bed in the morning, strap on the heart-rate monitor and off I go. Anything between 35 and 60 mins at 65%.
Mind you, as winter approaches I may not find it quite as attractive!
