    MMA Workout ?

    I have a fight in Feb/March. Currently I am running 3 miles a day. But Ill sprint for a quarter mile then run and sprinter ...etc etc. And I gym lightweights high reps. Anyone got any other good excerises? Thanks

    good luck in your fight..i dont fight..but a lot of guys at the gym i workout at do..i see them doing a lot of pull ups,cleans, deads, dips. tons of abs also...just what i have seen good luck

    Plyometrics, but you've probably got that covered.

    Hindu Squats for local muscular endurance in the legs. Back bridging for developing flexibility in the trunk. Four-Way Neck Stretch for developing neck strength. Hindu Pushups for local muscular endurance in the chest, shoulders, and triceps (it will also develop flexibility in the trunk). Those are just a few samples.

    I always prefer sparring over cardio (for the length of your rounds of your fight). It's more sport-specific. If you need to drop weight then the cardio is ok.

    Also add swimming to your routine, running is neccesary as well as sparring, the last thing you wanna do is gas in your fight, nothing is worse than that.

    the running is great, try some stairs and stuff, also if you want lifting techniques Andre Orlovski's UFC weight training program is in the new flex issue, its pretty sweet and basic, but since he is the best fighter in the game why not give it a shot...also good luck in your fight bro...remember its all won outside of the ring...best of luck!!!!
