    Rest between Sets

just wondering the amount of rest everyone has between sets .

i know the ideal for strength is like 3 min +
but for gaining size do people combine highr reps with lower rest (1min)
or higher reps with same rest.

    just wondering what people do

I usually don't time my rest periods.I pretty much just catch my breath and grind out another set.If I had to guess,I'd say 1 minute or slightly less.

test yourself, one workout rest 3-4 min, then a 2nd workout rest 1 min and see if your more sore the next day with waiting longer or shorter amount of time, my guesss is shorter -it works for me, its how i train.

Yeah exactly. Usually about 45 seconds to 1 minute for me, sometimes 20seconds if I'm doing certain exercises or drop sets.

For traps though, no more than 20 seconds ever. Those babies just never fatigue! 12, 10, 8, 6, all with 20 or 30 seconds rest...

I very seldom rest more than 1 minute between sets. I've tried various approaches and this seems to work best for me.

for core lifts like heavt presses squat and deads, about 3 - 5minutes depending on how heavy, all auxilary lifts of 8 to ten reps, 2minutes rest at the most. lift when you feel ready to lift, unless you are working on speed reps, than its 30 seconds , but thats a whole different story
