Belly Dancing and Stripper Pole Exercise

I am planning to join a belly dancing class and a stripper pole exercise. Has anyone tried any of these? If so what's your experience and did you guys have great result doing it?

Or does any of you men out there who have a gf who has done it? If so what's their result?

I have done taebo and yoga before both did tremendous job.

I just want to try on something different Or I guess I can just go back on doing taebo and Yoga.

( input would be appreciated!! Thanks!!)

is a new exercise where they teach you to exercise in a pole.. similar to yoga .

As far as Tae Bo goes, why not try the real thing? During a Tae Kwon Do class, you will have the added benefit of sparring. There is no cardio as intense as sparring against an opponent of a higher rank.

A friend of mine bellydances... she sent me pics ( )... she put on weight. I think it's because the sessions are low-intensity.

I'd advise doing it for fun... not for weight-loss

Really I have heard a lot of people say Bellydancing works . That it basically aim for the abs,arm , hips and the legs. Some Say is is more like a cardio workout.
I am not doing it for weight loss.

MOre like to get lean and to tone my physique

But thanks for the input Narkissos! Appreciate it!

and Papi ... I am not sure about the Tae Kwon Do but I'll check it out. ( Thanks)

I think belly dancing would be a fun way of burning calories and generally increasing core endurance and perhaps strength. The stripper pole would probably be less effective. It is the sudden changes in direction and speed involved with belly dancing that would be beneficial for you...

As for the strippers' pole, I would go with an adult class on gymnastics. You will develop a lot of functional strength with this class.
