    Giving Blood and Lifting!!!!!!!!!!

So here is my question, they say that giving blood, more specifically just plasma has no side effects as long as you drink a good amount of water. I am working out on a regular basis and working pretty hard, I am trying to get in the best shape of my life so I eat really healthy too.

WILL DONATING PLASMA 2 TIMES EVERY 7 DAYS NEGATIVELY EFFECT MY LIFTING? IF SO HOW MUCH? CAN I JUST DOUBLE MY WATER INTAKE?

    Thank you in Advance

I am going to bump this again even though it was way over a year ago. I have the same question. My thoughts are this....By donating your plasma, your immune system is taking a shot becasue it must replenish what it has lost, making it more succeptible to disease, which would indirectly affect work out. As far as directly affecting your work out......Can't really see how it would because you are not techniquly loosing blood becasue it is cycled back to you, therefor not loosing stregth. Anyone that might be able to shed some new light on this??? Interesting question.

It will not have a negative impact provided you drink lots of fluids to replenish it. Plasma is the transport medium for blood. It is the liquid part, which carries the platelets and nutrients around. So they aren't taking any nutrients out at all. So your blood glucose, lipids, hormone levels and that sort of thing will be unchanged. You just have to drink more when you donate.
