    Squats only...

Is it possible to maintain upper body mass by just doing squats?

The reason I'm asking this is because i hurt my shoulder and I will have to rest it for a few weeks, making upper body work impossible to do. I know I will lose some , but will doing squats 2-3 times a week keep most of whats up there...there?

It'll send strong/powerful growth signals to the body as a whole, yes.

2 weeks off totally is what I do after a show, and I come back strong as f*ck, so I don't think 3-4 weeks is going to kill you.

Can you do sitting leg press? That might help take the pressure off your shoulder.

*pouts* yeah, I can do leg presses

but if I wanted to do leg presses, then I wouldn't have squatted all those years.

    *pouts some more*

Diet will be Key. Eat Right and squat you should be alright it may even stimulate some new growth with the shock to system when you return to lifting fully.

It's not comfortable , but I do it. I just rest the bar on my traps and find the most cofortable hand grip with it. My arm is mostly just there, no pressure is on it. So I'm guessing my shoulder is not as messed up as your's. I just cant do any pushing, pulling motions with it at the moment.

be cautious about eating everything in sight while your injured...it depends on what your goals are. if your intensity and frequency of workouts is down, your body wont be burning as many calories as usual. if you overindulge and eat in excess you may put on unwanted bf..again it all depends on your personal goals

ever try front squats or safety bar squats? they would help with your shoulder pain, and yes,m working lower body will up your natural test production, it will help more than doing nothing to maintain upperbody strength and size
