    Hamstring cramps?

I've been having a problem with my hamstrings cramping on leg day. I always work my quads first then move onto hamstrings then calves, but it's been almost impossible to work my hams the last couple workouts cause they cramp everytime about 2 sets in. Here's what my routine looks like...

    Squats
    Leg press
    Lunges
    Lying leg curls(cramp every time)
One legged ham curl(haven't been able to do these last couple weeks cause of the cramps)
    Seated calf raise
    Standing calf raise

Does this happen to anyone else? Anyone know what i can do about this?

    Thanks

Try doing leg extinsions to start. That solved my cramping

    Stretching for 5 and then
I superset moderately weighted leg extensions and lying leg curls for a warm up before I do squats.
Squats were usually when I got my cramps.

Hmmmm, i do a lot of stretching before and during my workout, and i never use to have this problem until recently. The thing is i never get cramps until i start my hams, never even on lunges. I'm wondering if maybe i should start my workout with hamstrings...

Not getting them on lunges and cramps starting on the hams sounds strange. I would try what your thinking and go with the strings first.
Let me know what the outcome is incase I ever run that problem down the road

Thanks pheedno, i'll let you know how things work out...

I might try seated leg curls instead of lying curls, as it seems those are what really do it to me. The only thing is those are also my favorite ham exercise, i love the burn from them. I wish there was another way, i'll try to mix it up and see what works best...

    Any other suggestions anyone?

I have the same problem only different :-) When I am doing leg curls my right calf gets cramped up to the point I have to stop before I have completed my sets. I am stretching, I am doing leg extensions first and I do calf raises after and have no problem when I get to the calf raises right after. Kind of strange!

Marx could it be you're dehydrated and not drinking enough water during and before your workout? I only get cramps when I'm dehydrated. Try drinking more water and make sure you warm up and stretch before your workout. Let me know it that helps.

Do you warm up on a stationary bike or treadmill at all before your leg workout?...I find that doing a very brief warm up on the bike or the stair master has helped out alot for me on leg day, and like Carlos_E commented, make sure your getting enough water, do you stretch after your leg workout is done also?
