    Swimming

I was wondering what swimming is good for, if it's good for anything. Is it considered cardio?

Yes! It is an excellent cardio workout along with strengthening muscles that some weights can't touch. I would swim but I don't have such great form I would end up swimming in a circle instead of laps!

Yes, swimming is great for you, and a great way to get ripped. Swimming is an easy way to lose extra lbs, and exersize muscles no weights can touch, and keep your joints feeling good.

I swam in HS for 4 years, along with playing Water Polo, and I was at the lowest BF% in my life only during those times.

Swimming is the only exercise that works every muscle in your body.

Swimming is a great way to loose excess body fat for a number of reasons.
It is a full body cardio exercise, incorporating every muscle in your body. If any of you are familiar with physics you will point out that the heat transfer rate in water is approx 4x faster than air. If you stay in long enough you an get hypothermia in 75 degree water. Thus not only is your body burning calories like cardio it is also expending more energy keeping itself warm, thus you are increasing your core body temprature and burning more calories than regular cardio exercises

I can confirm, swimming is great. I swim miles every week and its great for back and shoulder development and strength in your rotator cuff. Its fantastic CV if you make yoruself work. If you dont push yourself though you will get minimal results

I'm just happy we have a newbie that knows how to use the 'search' feature.

    And no... I don't swim.
