I just had question about my workout routine. I having been working out for the past 2 months. In that time, I've notice that while doing my workout, I feel pumped. But as soon a s I leave gym, my body completely loses the "pumped" feeling. I was wondering could this be due to an increase in cortisol, or is my body working normally.
No worries- it has nothing to do with corisol. The pump is just from the muscles swelling up with blood. And yeah it goes away after a work out. das normal...
I wish it didn't but it does .....:confused: :mad: :(
That's right thugspliter, the pump is just the response of your body forcing blood to the muscle helping it contract. Cortisol is a stress hormone produced from just that "STRESS". Cortisol is catabolic which means it breaks down tissue. That is why it's so important to replenish your glycogen (carbs) quickly following your workout, and then within 90 minutes consume your high quality protein. Cortisol levels are elevated and stay that way if you don't feed the muscle cells, and SLEEP.
