    Query on German Volume Training

    Quick question on GVT.

I am in my 5th week and really struggling to keep to 1min30secs between squats. CV health is fine, but I am getting headaches, sickness and dizziness in the 6-10 set range. I've been training for 12 years and I don't put this down to any illness or health problems, but just generally being f*cked from busting myself real hard.

Would it be detrimental to move to longer rest periods?

All other compounds I am fine with....

You need at least 3 minutes between intense sets of squats. You are destroying your cns and Immune system with such practice.

Sweet, I was worried I was being a poofta but I have never felt so wrecked from a workout, literally staggering around the gym not seeing properly.

    Any other opinions?

Yes, never do over 5 sets for one exercise. The reason being, you will eventually cause over-use injuries.

I say take enough time to recover. 3-4 min would probably be good on all out sets of squats. It think people forget what "all out sets" of squats do to your body and lungs. Now a quick pace is good but dont let it be at the cost of safty. the last thing you want is to lose focus with 405 on your back cause you cant catch your breath.

You will wear out your joints and increase the odds of developing tendonitus with too much repetitive movement. By training from 2 different angles instead of one, you take the strain off.
