calfs... what a pain in the ....

I have been talking to some people and was wondering what you bro's/bra's here do for your calfs. This is by far one of the hardest muscles to work.
Here is what I do for my calfs

    calf raises on machine:
This machine is wierd, you sit on it and the weight goes on this post that sits in front of you.
    1st set: 2x45lbs+machine weight+body weight - 25 to 30 reps
    2nd set:3x45lbs+machine weight+body weight - 25 to 30 reps
    3rd set: 4x45lbs+machine weight+body weight - 15 to 20 reps
    4th set: 5x45lbs+machine weight+body weight - 10 to 12 reps
    5th set: 4x45lbs+machine weight+body weight - 15 to 20 reps
    6th set: 3x45lbs+machine weight+body weight - 25 to 30 reps
    7th set: 2x45lbs+machine weight+body weight - 25 to 30 reps

Now I go to do standing calf raises on machine.
    Only 4 sets here.
    1st set: 4x45+machine weight+body weight - 20 reps
    2nd set: 6x45+machine weight+body weight - 10 to 12 reps
    3rd set: 4x45+machine weight+body weight - 20 reps
    4th set: 2x45+machine weight+body weight - till I cant move no more!!!

    and that is calfs... =)

    Hi Bro,

that's a pretty typical calf workout - the first machine is called the seated calf raises. It affects the soleus more than the gastrocnemius...

You could try supersetting them together or doing drop sets or even burns at the end of each set.

    bro..
I have to respectfully disagree. There is nothing typical about my calf workout. I see guy's all the time on the seated calf machine Struggling with 2 45's and a 25 on the post..
and as far as doing more reps.. not going to happen, every set is done till it burns like hell..
Thanks for the advice though.. I will have to try the superset idea,, sounds fun... lol...

at this point my calfs are 19.5" and look good .. I am not hapy yet though.. but to answer the question yes I think my calf workout is working..
