Would this be a bad idea?

I have a layer of excess fat on my pecs ive been trying to get rid of, my normal benching routine isnt getting the job done.. would it be dumb to just do all flies for a total of like 16 sets on chest days 2X a week, for a couple weeks? i dont mind losing a little strength if it means results.. input please, thanks

The routine that you are describing will help you gain muscle mass in the pec area. However, it will not contribute to the overall loss of fat tissue. You will simply gain muscle under the fat. To reduce fat, you need to consider a high protein, lower carb eating program combined with cardio program for 3x's per week at least 45 minute per cardio session. Loss of fat and gaining lean muscle is 85% diet!
