Works well, just added it in a few weeks ago and noticed huge improvements in my tricep head. Just remember that close grip can cause injury, so vary your grip but keep it between 12-6". It's a good exercise, but what good is it if you injure your wrist.

What I do for close grip bench, is I take the bar off of the sit down curl machine, the one that's angled for closer grip and wider grip. It looks kind of like the easy curl bar. I take it to the sit down bench machine, and I place it between the two poles. This won't affect your wrists at all.

When I do close grip I also feel it it's the center of my chest.

use the elastic band on the bar while doing close grip bench press. it forces you to use a controlled movement to maintain stability. and adds resistance to the negative portion of the movement. it will burn the hell out of your tris.

Close grip bench is great for building size and strength in your tri's. But I would recomend having a spotter. If you get stuck or lose it your in trouble.
