I think it all depends on one's propotions, natural leverages and bone structure. One needs to experiment and find out what works and what does not.
I do both.
to me they are equally the same, however i think decline isolates the chest a little more. do both exercises not just one. and switch up the order u do them in to shock them
thanks fo de input guyz
Flat for over all chest.
Decline for lower pecs.
Agree, I like flat for all over chest...if done correctly. I can't really do decline anymore due to shoulder injury thoughQuote:

but wasnt there a post sayin that decline worked the chest region more effectively than regular bench press
do a search for flat bench or decline. You might find it. I liked decline when I did it. I would do both if I could
thankz 13
Why not do both? Or alternate weeks that you do flat or decline.
Changing up always works for me.
Variety is good but it all depends on the real reason you ask this question.. like if your current training cycle includes GVT with inly one exercise than you want to pick the one that stimulates the most fibers.
Decline Dumbell Press is the most effective for the pectoralis major based on EMG results. Incline Dumbells for the Pectoralis Minor.
More EMG results in this thread.
